Pastor of Student Ministries Job Description:
The primary responsibilities of the Pastor of Student Ministries will be to oversee all aspects of the student ministries including Middle School and High School youth groups as well as young adult small groups. The Pastor of Student Ministries will give special attention to the teaching and discipling of the Junior and Senior High ministries, leading them to discover and live out the truths of the Gospel. This position will serve as a spiritual leader and be responsible to develop and implement a comprehensive approach to Student Ministry including evangelism, teaching, youth group, worship, and prayer. The Pastor of Student Ministries will be responsible to train and equip adult volunteers of the student ministries.

- Plan and lead Middle School and High School Youth Group
- Lead Sunday School for the Middle School and High School
- Create and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for Youth Group
- Work with the Christian Education Committee to research, review and order age-appropriate curriculum for the various student ministries
- Identify, train and develop volunteers to assist in the Student Ministries at St. Paul’s Bible Church
- Identify, develop, and monitor spiritual growth and spiritual gifts in students
- Train students in leadership and develop responsibility, accountability, and involvement of students in ministry
- Plan and execute student events in collaboration with other Student Ministries leaders and volunteers
- Foster communication with parents through informational meetings and electronic communication
- Provide pastoral care for students and their parents in coordination with other pastoral staff as needed
- Connect students, parents and volunteers to life and service in the church
- Assist in organizing small groups
- Participate in staff and elder meetings
Qualifications:
- Growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Meets the Scriptural requirements for church leadership found in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1
- Must be in agreement with our Biblical statement of beliefs and the vision and values of the church
- Ability to lead and care for people from a diverse array of cultural, social, educational, and economic backgrounds
- Willingness to recruit, motivate, lead, and equip people for ministry
- Ability to self-evaluate and make changes when necessary or advised
- Willingness to embrace and implement the team’s initiatives, and positively respond to constructive feedback
- Have a strong work ethic and high level of initiative to lead with faith, wisdom, and a “can do attitude”
- Ability to serve alongside the Senior Pastor in a supportive and collaborative manner
- Has the spiritual gift of teaching and a willingness to preach
- Be open to change and the shifting of responsibilities as growth and ministry develop
- Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in church leadership (not required) and a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies (or equivalent)
Status: Full-time
Office hours: To be determined in conjunction with the Senior Pastor
Salary and Benefits:
- Salary: Negotiable based on education and experience
- Allowance for health care
- Vacation: 3 weeks, including 3 Sundays
- Pastor’s Conference: Up to $1,000 paid (travel, food, hotel, conference) for one conference per year, which has been approved by the Board of Elders
- Housing: A two-bedroom apartment located in the church (based on need, utilities included with the apartment.)
